"How sad to see the mockery of two ordinary Russian cathedral enthusiasts who flew 2,000 miles to spend an afternoon admiring a steeple in Wiltshire before catching the first flight home to their jobs in the fitness industry.
Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, however, are not the first innocent foreign tourists to be smeared by the British state.
The Blitz

Incidentally, he made his threat two weeks before the referendum with the polls neck and neck and the government employing ever more desperate tactics to win (extending the registration deadline), so he must have had SOME idea he might lose.

He was Chancellor of the Exchequer. He knew exactly what the B of E's response was going to be or he was in dereliction of duty. He lied. That would certainly be provable in a court of law.
Since 'lying during a referendum campaign' isn't a crime, Carney and the Head of the Treasury civil service will not be called to give evidence. He lied, and you have come up with many excuses for it, all of them nonsense.

What part of “I don’t think he lied” is equal to “I admit he lied”?
Also, Saying you can’t prove something is not the same as saying something happened or not. Try are totally different statements.

You've just reiterated your point. You admit he lied but are saying it's OK because it can't be proved. Except it probably can. Osborne would have to demonstrate that he was competely incompetent in order to prove his innocence.

I haven’t changed my position. I don’t Think he lied. And I’m saying you couldn’t prove it in court unless some official docs came up saying the oposite. Rudd has documents that say the oposite. That’s the point.

To lie you have to know that something isn’t correct. If I know I haven’t got a million quid and it’s unlikely I will have it next week. I then tell you I will give a million next week, that’s a lie. Because I know it’s very very unlikely to happen so I am deliberalty misleading you.
So yes you can lie about something in the future but that is only the case if you KNOW it to be incorrect when you said it.
I think logic is a problem on this site...

Given his position, I'm pretty sure they could. Beyond reasonable doubt in a criminal court, probably. Balance of probabilities in a civil court, certainly.
In any case, your position has now changed to 'yes, he did lie, but they can't prove it'. So I suppose we are getting somewhere.

If amber Rudd were in court about Windrush you could easily prove she lied about not knowing stuff.
You may be suspicious and feel that Osborne lied but you cant really prove it. And thats pretty much it really.
